Ubuntu

“Ubuntu” comes from the Xhosa word meaning “humanity toward others” and refers to a belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity. There is currently an orphan crisis in the world today with 25 million HIV/AIDS orphans projected by 2010. That is just two years away.

The DO Ubuntu orphan bracelets are handcrafted by HIV positive women in the Eastern Cape of South Africa which suffers a 70% unemployment rate – thus providing sustainable income to help keep families together and contribute to the effort to prevent orphans. The DO Ubuntu orphan bracelet campaign will assist AHF to provide lifesaving treatment to children, mothers and families in South Africa and globally.
