This is the photo from my front door of the fire last weekend in the mountains - at the top of Lake Avenue. So, the dogs and I went on an early hike on Saturday morning to see what the damage actually was.

We were early enough that we could still see the moon in the sky. The valley was a bit hazy (actually a bit smoggy with this much heat). I was going to be 103 in Pasadena that afternoon. You can just see downtown Los Angeles in the picture.

So, here is the actual fire burn area. It is much small that I thought it was going to be - only 12 acres. The fire crews hit it hard with water.
