Olympic officials push Russia to clarify anti-LGBT law

The International Olympic Committee says it is awaiting clarification from the Russian government on laws banning LGBT "propaganda." IOC President Jacques Rogge said Friday that Russian officials' promises that participants in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi would be safe were insufficient. "There are still too many uncertainties in the text," he told reporters. LGBT advocates have criticized the IOC for not taking a stronger stance against the law, which Russian officials confirmed Monday would be enforced during the games.
